About Unwilling Cargo

Unwilling Cargo is a multipurpose and collaborative awareness campaign developed by the students of the Honors Service: Unwilling Cargo course of the UTSA Honors College, in conjunction with our course faculty member, Professor Kalia Glover, working collaboratively with the Institute to Combat Trafficking. Our course vision aims to answer the critical questions, "What is 'modern day slavery'? Would you recognize it if you saw it? How is it connected to the history of enslavement in the U.S.? Do you want to help?." Furthermore, the course aims to, "engage UTSA and nearby communities to amplify the voices of victims and work toward the abolition of slavery in Texas and the wider U.S."

Through this website, we hope to further the vision of the Unwilling Cargo course, taking a definitive step toward eradicating human trafficking by defining the problem, amplifying the voices of victims, gaining insight from professionals, and providing the right information and resources so you, too, can be a part of our mission.
